Whether it’s playing Shakespeare in the film adaptations of his plays, or being the face of the cult favorite Star Wars, Anne Hathaway has made a name for herself in Hollywood. Her enviable career has seen her receive many awards, including an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award. She was also among the world’s highest-paid actresses in 2015.
Early life
During the early life of Anne Hathaway, she lived in a small town called Shottery, located near Stratford-upon-Avon, England. Her father was a farmer. Her mother was an actress. She had two brothers, Michael and Thomas. Her sister, Judith, married vintner Thomas Quinney. In November 1616, Judith gave birth to her first child, a son, named Shakespeare Quinney.
After high school, Anne Hathaway went to Vassar College, where she studied political science and English. She also studied dancing and martial arts. She did not complete her degree, however. She began her acting career as a stage actress.
